A member of our community has nominated Karen Helton, aged 68, from Missouri, USA for an Intention of the Week. Here is her story:
‘Karen has been vegan and alternative for most of her life. In late 2021, she caught COVID and got very sick, which caused damage to her heart. This past year, after having an upper respiratory infection, she never fully recovered. It was determined that her heart was enlarged and very damaged and she was diagnosed with a 20% functioning heart and ventricular tachycardia, which is life threatening.
‘She is struggling with taking prescription drugs that have serious side effects. Her doctor wants to insert an ICD Implant, which is a mini defibrillator. This will require a six-week recovery period and be in her body for the rest of her life.’
