Today, at 9 am PST/12 noon EST/5 pm UK/6 pm Western Europe we are holding an Intention Experiment for peace to be restored in Ukraine.

Today (February 25, I’ll be running this live on my Facebook page, so please come join me.

Intention Experiments are always free to all.

Every day thereafter, please join thousands of us from around the world from wherever you are at the same time (9 am PST/12 noon EST/5 pm UK/6 pm Western Europe) and hold the following intention for 10 minutes:

'Our intention is that peace be immediately, completely and permanently restored in Ukraine with no further loss of life and that the country maintain its sovereignty as an independent, democratic nation.'

If you are outside those time zones, find out the time in your local area with this time zone converter.

If you don’t believe that intention can lower violence and restore peace in an area, consider when we focused on Afghanistan for a week on the 10th anniversary of 9/11 in 2011.

We’d focused on the two provinces of Helmand and Kandahar – the strongholds of the Taliban.

After our experiment, according to the NATO statistics, civilian casualties in those two provinces fell by an average of 37 per cent, compared with the casualty rate in August 2011, and attacks with explosive devices fell by 16 per cent than the average attack rate from the two-plus years before.

Perhaps the most interesting downward trend had to do with initiated attacks by the Taliban. The monthly figures for 2010 had showed a steady upward trend of attacks (up 80 per cent overall in 2010), but after our experiment in September, the numbers began a steep downward trend, falling drastically from October to December 2011, and overall enemy-initiated attacks over the last three months of 2011 were 12 per cent lower compared to the same period in 2010.

As a NATO report noted about the second half of the year: ‘This is the longest sustained downward trend in enemy-initiated attacks recorded by ISAF (the combined forces in Afghanistan at the time).’

In fact, compared with the rest of the country, the southwest – the target of our intention – recorded an extraordinary 790 per cent decrease in violence over the month before and a 29 per cent decrease for the entire year – the largest decrease in figures compared to the September of the year before.

What made our results even more compelling was the fact that the big decreases in violence that had occurred in our target provinces hadn’t been uniformly experienced around the country.

Of course, as with all our Intention Experiments, the most remarkable outcome was the effect on participants. In this instance, we had both Arabs and Americans participating.

During the daily broadcasts, which had an instant messenger chat room, many of our Western participants began to instant message and befriend people from the Arab countries who could write in English – and vice versa.

The resentment and suspicion about Arabs was beginning to transform into love and acceptance. The Westerners began wishing the Arabs well – ‘Ante diemen fee kalbi’ (‘you are always in my heart’) – and as they began to feel connected to those from the Arab countries, ‘like a support from the right side one can virtually lean on; like feeling brothers from far away’, their attitudes towards the Middle East began to shift: ‘Forever will Afghanistan be synonymous with Peace for me.’ The pain of 9/11 and lingering rancor were healing.

‘Thank you, world,’ Yasser wrote. ‘You’re still a good place, with all these peaceful people.’

‘I had the sense that although we had a specific “target’’,’ said Aimee, ‘we were healing everyone, everywhere at once.’

Don’t forget:  join me today at 9 am PST/12 noon EST/5 pm UK/6 pm, live on my Facebook page:  https://www.facebook.com/LynneMcTaggart2011 and every day thereafter until March 4, then stop what you’re doing and send the above intention.

One good thought may be all it takes to heal the world.

  1. Some of us are not on Facebook by choice. It would be great if there was another option to view.
    Thank you

  2. I agree with Anne Taylor - I too am not on Facebook by choice - they are morally bankrupt. It would be very good if there was another choice, but I will (as so many will) be faithfully joining in at home at 5pm UK 6pm Europe each day till March 4th. (If we miss the time, I'm sure God will accommodate us as according to physicists and to theologians alike, outside planets everywhere [Heaven] is in an eternal now).

  3. Hello,
I agree with Anne and Dandelion as well.
I do not use face book by choice.
(I work in I.T. and most of my colleagues do not have face book accounts)

I will join the group intention at the specified time as well.
Thank you, for sharing and teaching the world a better way.

  4. I too am not on Facebook by choice but thank everyone for the intention and their time in doing this work xxx

  5. I’m not on Facebook it’s corrupt. I will be meditating for peace in Ukraine at the right time with you.

  6. Thank you Lynne - an interesting effect for me - I became aware that I had had an unconscious barrier or wall, can't think of an appropriate word, maybe resistance, towards Russia. I became aware of it through becoming aware of a feeling of love and unity toward every single Russian as well as Ukranian.

  7. Dear Lynne,
Just a question; is it a good idea to make an intention regarding President Putin also? For example, that he comes to his senses and that we send him love? If everyone does that, he can't help but repent, right?
    Lots of love!
    Joe

  8. Just joined in the intention/prayer again today - and have also glanced at Channel Four news - many cities in Russia have utterly heroic peaceful demonstrators being assaulted by their police forces - but they are continuing to demonstrate against this war. So brave.

@Joe - I love your idea, but as human beings we are all given the choice each day between good and evil, and it seems to me that his course has been determinedly set for a long time. Nevertheless, let's try it - and let's think of all the countries who have treaties with Ukraine which should help protect them, and hope they stand up to be counted.

  9. Since this 'War' between Russia and Ukraine has so many parts to it, and Russia planned this war starting in 2014, and last October 2021 Alex Jones talked about a war starting in February 2022, there is a whole lot of energy behind it which is interfering in the intention to work quickly.
So maybe if you could reword the intention to say something like this, it would work at the core of the energy:
Our intention is for the nefarious reasons behind the Russian and Ukrainian war to now be immediately, completely, and permanently resolved to bring peace upon their land.

  10. I am on board. I know how messages of loving intent have brought positive changes within my family. I gladly join my brothers and sisters worldwide to bring peace to the Ukraine.

Why wait any longer when you’ve already been waiting your entire life?
