A member of our community has nominated Miriam Beukema, aged 38, from Utrecht, The Netherlands for an Intention of the Week. Here is her story:
‘Miriam is recovering from multiple injuries following a fall down the stairs in December 2024.
‘She is recovering from shoulder surgery and continues to experience significant inflammation. She also has a severe ankle injury following a trimalleolar fracture, resulting in arthritis, osteonecrosis, an osteochondral defect (OCD), chronic inflammation and nerve entrapment.
‘She is awaiting surgery to repair the osteochondral defect, remove a loose bone fragment and relieve the nerve compression. We need the surgery to be completely successful, the inflammation to resolve, the pain to disappear, her tissues and nerves to heal fully, and her shoulder and ankle to regain strength, stability and normal function.’
