A member of our community has nominated Jeroen Van den Broek, aged 53, from Uden, The Netherlands for an Intention of the Week. Here is his story:
‘In 2009, the Coxiella bacteria, which causes Q fever, changed Jeroen’s life forever. Once a successful businessman, he gradually lost everything—his marriage, his only daughter, and his financial stability—due to his inability to work.
‘There is no cure for Q fever, and Jeroen experiences cycles of manic states and depression, with the depressive periods lasting at least a few months.
‘Desperate to find healing, he has tried numerous alternative methods, and is eager to overcome his daily struggles and start living again.’
