Banishing the energy of your past for good

We have an epidemic now, and it’s not a virus.  It’s what psychologists and the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention call ‘Adverse Childhood Experiences’:  mistreatment during childhood by parents, teachers, peers or other adults – long-ago events that still affect their lives and life choices, sabotaging their every day as though it happened yesterday.

Some 64 %, or nearly two-thirds, of people in the US alone have suffered at least one ACE, whether emotional, physical or sexual abuse, and 17.3%, about one in six adults, have suffered four of more of them,

Add to that adult trauma:  up to 19% –  nearly  one-fifth of all adults –  experience the same kind of abuse from their partners.

The reason for the epidemic is that people who suffer trauma of any variety as children – whether the parents who mistreated them, the teachers who shamed them, the friends who bullied them – don’t enjoy a great track record of healing.

According to the latest statistics, a meager 4 percent of people who’ve suffered trauma seek help. The vast majority just  carry on, pushing through their pain or dulling it with drugs or alcohol.

Of those who do seek help, 40 percent cancel after the first or second session, and just 30 percent who see their therapy through report any significant improvement.

To put that in perspective, for every 100 people with these problems who go into therapy, 40 cancel after one or two sessions, and of the 60 remaining, just 20 enjoy any type of improvement. And remember: those 20 are among the 4 percent of people who seek help in the first place.

Why patients give up on therapy

The reason why patients give up on therapy is that standard psychological approaches and biology in general are looking at trauma – and the body – through the wrong lens.

Most science still describes the body as some stable and separate thing made up of chemicals and electrical signaling.  What they fail to recognize – and what is now being proven in pioneering laboratories around the world – is that we are essentially a dynamic energy system.

Standard science accepts that the body has electrical signaling, but Jacques Benveniste, the late French immunologist, demonstrated that cells communicate through electromagnetic signaling.  He showed molecules and chemical reactions occur through the energy of this signaling by recording and ‘playing’ the frequencies to carry out chemical reactions.

The late German physicist Fritz Albert Popp and Russian physicist Konstantin Korotkov both showed that we are beings of light, with our DNA signaling to the body through a tiny current of light and beaming out the light to communicate outside the body.

We now know that the atoms and subatomic particles of our body use quantum energy to control cell metabolism and behavior.

And now, as I’ve discovered and written about in my forthcoming book The God Notes, the body uses sound frequencies for cellular processes, and even for messaging between neurons. New research from Oxford University demonstrated that the brain operates essentially like an orchestra of frequencies.

The point is that waves of energy carry information – information that remains in the body and becomes the secret conductor directing the show.

Many of the newer energy therapies such as tapping, EMDR or thought field therapy enjoy some success with deep trauma precisely because they recognize that the body is a complex energy system.

What is necessary to truly heal the pain of the past, as my husband Bryan Hubbard describes in his therapy Time-Light®, is to understand that the energetic pulses of the past are still with us, still shaping us, still controlling our responses, still creating the ‘you’ that we present to the world.

These pulses of the past can remain with us through adulthood like an uninvited guest, but happily, Bryan and I have both been able to develop a variety of original techniques to successfully dissolve this energy and its limiting patterns, no matter how long ago they’ve been formed.

To truly heal trauma we need to understand ourselves holistically and dissipate the pain of the past where it actually lives – in the present, there in your energy system, waiting finally to be banished for good.
