During this Thanksgiving weekend, what I’m most thankful for is a little baby called (appropriately for this US holiday) Hamilton Speckman Suro and the enormous lesson he taught me and many of my community about the extraordinary power of getting off of yourself and focusing on others.

Hamilton, born on January 13, 2021, in Mexico, suffered an intestinal perforation days after his birth. The confirmation of a cow milk allergy led the medical team to perform an emergency ileoscopy (where the doctor makes an incision in the small intestine and inserts a narrow tube with a light and tiny camera on one end).

While in recovery Hamilton caught pneumonia, which caused pulmonary ventricular tachycardia (abnormal electrical signals in the lower chambers of the part of the heart affecting the blood pumping to the lungs) plus high blood pressure in the blood vessels that supply the lungs (pulmonary arteries). He was a very sick little boy and the doctors weren’t sure he was going to make it.

Hamilton remained on a ventilator and received a battery of intravenous antibiotics, drugs to promote his circulation and pain meds for days.

All this at just a few weeks old.

His parents Thomas and Guille Speckman, who had both joined our Power of Eight® Intention Masterclass 2021, spoke out about little Hamilton’s condition during the first meeting of the Masterclass on February 6 and implored all of the participants on our webinar to do an intention to heal their tiny son’s intestines, heart, and lungs.

We then tracked his progress over the weeks and months, with Tom providing us with a running commentary during the weekly Zoom sessions of the course and also on the Facebook group page we’d created especially for the class.

‘Hamilton, day by day, is improving and has astonished many along the way – the neurological specialist most recently.’ he wrote a week later. ‘When she saw his progress given the duration of time from onset to today, she was speechless. Today Hamilton took his first drink from a bottle since being admitted to the neonatal intensive care unit.’

On Feb 13, Tom sent us this picture, writing, ‘Well on his way back to himself. It’s his one-month celebration today!’

All was well until March 16, when Tom wrote, ‘Hamilton has met a complication. Following his ileoscopy and the re-installation of his intestines two days ago he caught Pediatric Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (PARDS) and was re-admitted to the NICU.’

He asked our Masterclass all to hold an intention at 4:00 pm PST.

Three days later, he wrote: ‘Here is our little warrior, Hamilton. What a high frequency group everyone is here! We are thrilled, his doctors are amazed by his turnaround and recovery. Sending vibrant colorful energy to all that intended with and for us these past weeks!’

But Hamilton wasn’t out of the woods yet.  On May 8, Tom wrote to say that Hamilton was re-admitted to the NICU three days before, still with PARDS. The class all took time to intend for him to have his respirator removed.

A day later, wrote Tom, ‘ Due to your energy yesterday, Hamilton’s respirator has been removed moments ago.’ He then asked us to hold another intention for his doctors to understand the cause of his full body edema and successfully treat it.

So on May 10, I asked everyone in the class to send an intention every day at 9 am PDT/12 noon EDT/5 pm UK/6 pm Europe for Hamilton to be immediately, completely, and permanently healed of his edema and pediatric respiratory illness, that his breathing and organs function normally and are healthy in every way, indefinitely.

A day later, Tom wrote again with good news: ‘Hamilton has had quite the turnaround since two days ago! We are full with gratitude for all your thoughtful intentional energy to date!!!’

His son, he said was ‘small in stature but mighty in heart.’

On May 17, Tom added a photo to our Intention Masterclass 2021 Facebook page.

‘The picture is worth 1,000 words. The few moments of doubt in the past week were quickly erased given the enormous outcry of loving intention work brought forth by all of you.

‘Hamilton’s recovery has raised the eyebrows of many treating him. With hope he will return home this week. We thank you for your mindful work in his healing process.’

On June 14, when Hamilton was five months old Tom wrote about how well he was doing and wrote of his immense gratitude to the Masterclass community and how our united intention proved miraculously healing:

‘We write in love, with positive intentions, for all that have shared theirs with ours. ‘We unite. We are bigger than any lifetime.’

Tom added some words that we could all take to heart this Thanksgiving:

‘As Hamilton continues on his path, we curb our enthusiastic excitement, remembering how fragile our life force is. It is with this careful mindfulness we intend for him to reinforce his steps of late as they prepare him for his next baby step.

‘We do rejoice the wins and we are grateful for each and every ONE of you who has created a new bond and meaning of family.

‘Fail not to believe in the power of the mind. Without words, our mindful actions and visions have created a healing field beyond the seen.

‘It’s truly magnificent how much energy you have given us, we take it all into every moment we share with him and his doctors - his eyes, bright with our community of love.’

Hamilton is growing into a healthy happy little boy and is soon to be a year old.

But all of us on the Masterclass grew just as much on that journey.

Hamilton became the focal point of our collective love and intentions. And we were given countless gifts in return.

As all the evidence shows, something about the desire to do something for someone else with no strings attached or personal benefit has an impact on health, well-being and your life far and above any other factor:  diet, social status, even religious belief.

One recent Harvard study of tens of thousands of people across America showed money and stuff didn’t do it for people.

The one factor that made for the greatest sense of happiness and satisfaction was both being part of a community and lending a helping hand.

Do yourself a favor. On this Black Friday weekend, don’t buy more clothes, more gadgets – more stuff.

The best and most life-enhancing deal you can take advantage of is a simple one.

Get off of yourself and do something for someone else. And if you want to watch the miracles rebound, do so in a small group.
