“She was recently diagnosed for a fourth time.

“The very imminent recommendation is for a mastectomy, which Wanda has always worked to avoid. She is still praying for an 11th hour miracle.”

“Irene is a healthy woman who started losing her eyesight in her 70s from macular degeneration, which might have been inherited from her mother's side of the family.

“She still has some sight, but her condition is worsening, and it is causing her great sadness because she is still very independent. She is finding it increasingly difficult to use her computer to manage her daily life (pay bills, order groceries, etc.)”

“Cynthia was diagnosed with cholangiocarcinoma (cancer of the liver bile ducts) in December of 2022. She underwent conventional chemotherapy, but it failed, and there are no clinical trials for new treatments.

“She has gone through a course of alternative therapies, which seemed to help, but have not eliminated the cancer.

“Cynthia is retiring this month after working 32 years as a public defender. She has a wonderful 30-year-old son, whom she loves dearly.”

A member of our community has nominated Pascal Proulx, aged 51, from Montreal, Canada for an Intention of the Week. Here is his story:

“Pascal was initially diagnosed on Oct 31, 2019 with stage 4 prostate cancer. an unusually aggressive form as a year earlier a prostate biopsy showed no signs.

“He was treated in 2020 with a radical prostatectomy, hormone therapy, chemo and radiation.

“In 2022, he had a recurrence. In March 2022 following his recurrence, Pascal  underwent five targeted high-dose radiotherapy sessions with good results.

“This summer urinary symptoms eventually led to a diagnosis of generalized bone metastases related to the prostate cancer.

“Currently he is on hormone therapy and, depending on his response, he will consider chemo or radio targeted therapy in the near future. He has pain that is controlled, but his energy is way down.”

A member of our community has nominated their son, Robert David Mortensen, aged 38, fromNew Jersey, USAfor an Intention of the Week. Here is his story:

“Our son Robert had a brain tumor removed in November 2022. The biopsy revealed he had a stage 4 glioma, which doctors said left him with only 14 months to live, even with chemo and radiation. However, there is hope, since one person with glioma has survived for 20 years, another 16 years and three others are still going strong after nine years or more. All these people are fighters with very positive and determined attitudes.

“Robert did the chemo and radiation and he is currently pursuing several alternative treatments and remedies which show promise. Robert refuses to accept the 14-month diagnosis, and he is determined to live another 20 years or more. He has a very positive attitude and is determined to beat this thing.

“Robert’s seven-year-old daughter Hannah is his inspiration for living. He is very much into energy healings, positive intentions and prayers. Robert is grateful for this experience since it has helped him grow spiritually, and he is very grateful for the support of his family and friends. Therefore, he is now paying it forward by posting Facebook videos and updates, where he offers help and prayers for others who are fighting cancer.

“He is currently giving his personal support to a friend who is fighting cancer and held a successful fundraiser for her. His positive attitude, fighting spirit, the support of family and friends, his support for others, and the alternative treatments are making a difference. His latest scan was clear with no new growths, a testament to the power of prayer and positive intentions.”
