Annie Singleton has nominated her ‘lovely’ husband Barry Singleton, aged 73, of Richmond, London, in the UK. Here’s his story, according to Annie:

“Four years ago, my husband Barry retired after working extremely hard all his life and six weeks later was in hospital. This led to a (transurethral resection of the prostate) (TURP), during which time a vigilant heart surgeon spotted a lesion on his vertebra while studying a heart MRI scan.

“More scans revealed that cancer - multiple myeloma - had eaten out two of his vertebrae. A high temperature put his heart out of rhythm, and he had atrial fibrillation (heart flutters) for over two years. The doctors believed that an operation on his back would put it out of rhythm again, so they were unable to resolve this, leaving him permanently exhausted and unable to walk any distance at all.

“The radiotherapy for his back was very difficult as the lesion was close to the back of his heart and his throat was badly impacted by the treatment. When the doctors felt he was ready, a wonderfully skilled doctor did an experimental and complex procedure to fill the vertebrae with cement, after which he had to wear a plastic corset-like a suit of armor for three months to support the back.

“Eventually the doctors felt that he was strong enough to undergo the procedure to put his heart back in rhythm. This was difficult but ultimately successful.

“As a matter of course before he left the hospital, they did a routine ECG and discovered that the atrial valve that they fitted 12 years earlier was now failing and he needed an urgent operation.

“It was too complex to replace this valve, so he was given a very new operation called a TAVI, where they float the new valve up through a vein and into the existing failing valve. This was wonderfully successful too.

“Soon after this he was found to have prostate cancer, but the doctors feel that any intervention is likely to impact negatively either on his heart or on his multiple myeloma. After having a few peaceful months during which he has worked hard at building up his stamina, walking and being on a regime of very large doses of alternative supplements he has started suffering from acute breathlessness.

“He has now been told that his heart is failing and that the mitral valve is leaking. After very careful consideration the heart surgeon said that an operation on this valve is too complex and is likely to leave him worse off than at present.

“He has been absolutely amazing during these four years despite being in considerable pain necessitating taking morphine for a while and having to inject himself with blood thinners.

“Though unable to be active he has been determined to carry on living as much as he can.  He has been so stoic and uncomplaining throughout and as a result has managed to work his way back to ’normal’ life after each setback despite having several very serious ‘morbid' conditions.

“This latest problem with his heart is a huge blow as he seems to have reached the end of the road in terms of operations. He is now due to begin treatment for his multiple myeloma and dreading the exhaustion that may come as a result. However, he has a very strong spirit.

“The community’s healing intention helped my friend Margaret Merritt so much we would both be so grateful if he could receive some of the community’s same amazing energy to make him as well as he possibly can be.

“He would be very, very happy if he was part of the Intention of the Week and I would be ecstatic. I am praying that he gets chosen.”

Please hold the following intention on Sunday, February 16, 2020 at 10:10 am Pacific US time/1:10 pm Eastern US/6:10 pm UK/7:10 pm Europe:

‘Our intention is that Barry Singleton be immediately completely and permanently healed of all prostate cancer, bone cancer and any metastases elsewhere, heart failure, and all symptoms of breathlessness and tiredness, and that he be healthy and well in every way.’
